The Darkest Corners Blog Tour!

25639296Title: The Darkest Corners
Author: Kara Thomas
Publisher: Delacorte
Release Date: April 19, 2016
Source: Publisher for Review

The Darkest Corners is a psychological thriller about the lies little girls tell, and the deadly truths those lies become.
There are ghosts around every corner in Fayette, Pennsylvania. Tessa left when she was nine and has been trying ever since not to think about it after what happened there last summer. Memories of things so dark will burn themselves into your mind if you let them.
Callie never left. She moved to another house, so she doesn't have to walk those same halls, but then Callie always was the stronger one. She can handle staring into the faces of her demons-and if she parties hard enough, maybe one day they'll disappear for good.
Tessa and Callie have never talked about what they saw that night. After the trial, Callie drifted and Tessa moved, and childhood friends just have a way of losing touch.
But ever since she left, Tessa has had questions. Things have never quite added up. And now she has to go back to Fayette-to Wyatt Stokes, sitting on death row; to Lori Cawley, Callie's dead cousin; and to the one other person who may be hiding the truth.
Only the closer Tessa gets to the truth, the closer she gets to a killer-and this time, it won't be so easy to run away.

**Thanks so much to the publisher for allowing me to read this in exchange for an honest review!**

For those of you who have followed my blog for a while, you may know that I usually don't get along with mystery novels that well. At about 50% through most mysteries, I tend to figure out what's going to happen and that completely ruins the experience for me. That was definitely not the case with The Darkest Corners!

This was a psychological thriller, so I was on the edge of my seat most of the time. I just wanted to know who was behind the murders because the last culprit was already in prison! I was flipping my pages so fast, and I think that you will too! There were many plot points in my opinion, but they all connected in such a way that it made a lot of sense.

I'm usually a big fan of romance in books, but I really liked that this one didn't have romance. I honestly think it's worth noting, because having a YA book without romance is hard to come by nowadays! Overall, I think having no romance definitely added to the story.

The ending of this story left me with many questions, but honestly I think that's what a psychological thriller is supposed to do. The reader isn't supposed to be left perfectly satisfied... it's called a psychological thriller for a reason! I will definitely be checking out Kara Thomas's future novels and will be recommending this one to all mystery/psychological thriller fans who are looking for an eerie and mysterious tale!

  1. That stinks that you are usually able to figure out most mysteries. It's never fun when you think you know what's going to happen and it turns out you're right :( This is definitely one of those books where if someone does figure out the twist, I'm going to be surprised. It's pretty out there. I liked that and I didn't. I thought it was surprising, but also trying too hard in a way. But I still really enjoyed the book. And I also loved that there was no romance. The boy that she makes friends w/ was cool, and I was glad that they remained just friends! Great review :)

  2. Glad you really liked reading this book, eslecially since you usually manage to figure out the plot of mysteries! I've heard a lot about this book, and it sounds really interesting! Plus, I'm not a hugee fan of romance in booK's nowadays - so this sounds perfect! Thanks for sharing :)
