BookTube and Blogging

So, lately I have been thinking about starting a booktube channel. I spend most of my time watching BookTube when I'm not reading or listening to music, so it seems like a logical thing to do. Of course, I'd still keep up the blog, too. I just think it would be fun!

I actually find myself more prone to watch a BookTube video review than read an actual review on someone's blog. I don't know why, maybe because it's quicker sometimes or I enjoy seeing a person's facial expressions as they explain books. Don't get me wrong, I still read blog reviews, but I enjoy BookTube reviews more.

This is pretty much me when I see that one of the channels I'm subscribed to posts a new video:

What are your thoughts on BookTube and blogging? Which do you prefer or do you like them both equally?

  1. Personally, I have no interest in vlogs/book tube. They just don't appeal to me. But I know a lot of book bloggers are going that route and lots of people like watching them, so if it's something you're feeling led to do, then you should :)

    1. Booktube is like the book blogging community, but instead of written post it's with videos hosted on youtube. Just pop over to youtube and search book reviews, book hauls and such, There are so so many booktubers that you are sure to finds ones you will like.

I have been thinking about starting my own booktube channel for ages now, but I am too much of a wimp to actually do it.

  4. I really hope you'll start your own booktube and that you'll enjoy it. It sounds really interesting, but I've always been more intrigued and closer to written words. So yeah good luck :)

  5. I'm more of a person that enjoys writing (I can read through it faster & remember better) so I would prefer written reviews. However, I think BookTube is great for little features. I love watching the Epic Reads videos on book blogger problems :p

  7. I say go for it! Written or video - I prefer reviews that are short and to the point.

  8. I prefer written blogs personally, but I think that is partially because my computer and phone are both dinosaurs and videos are kind of a pain for me to watch. As for actually attempting one... I don't think I could do it, but I am always admiring bloggers who can! I wish I had the guts to do it myself, honestly, because I love the idea of being able to just talk about books and such. So yeah, go for it! I bet you'd enjoy doing it!

  9. For me, I prefer to read reviews on blogs rather than watch booktube reviews. Blog reviews just seem longer, with more information and they give me more insights on the books. That's, at least, in comparison to the select booktubers I watch. But then, if it comes to tags, discussions, etc, I prefer to watch them on booktube than read them on blogs, because we really get to see the reactions of the people talking about certain topics.

So, I do enjoy both blogging and booktube. But really, it all depends on the person running the blog/vlog and if you can see that they're passionate about what they're doing. :)
