If you've seen my post about what's in store for everyone on the blog, then you most definitely know about this. If you haven't seen the post, here's what Great Expectations is. Great Expectations is going to be a new meme hosted here at Downright Dystopian. I think I'll host it on Thursdays, every other week.
If you'd like to join in on this meme, just please link back to me and leave a link to your post in the comments! I'd love to see what you have to say about it.
Great Expectations will be a weekly meme where you talk about a book that has had a lot of hype. You then proceed to talk about whether you believe it should've had all that hype. After that, you can talk about a recent read that you loved to try to give it some hype.
I read Fathomless by Jackson Pearce recently, and I really liked it. It was my first-ever Jackson Pearce book and I'm glad that I finally read one of her books. I was in the mood for a mermaid book and it's the only other mermaid book that I own besides the outstanding Wake by Amanda Hocking.Did it deserve all the hype? In my opinion, yes. I've heard so many amazing things about Jackson Pearce's retellings and the hype didn't disappoint. I really like how she put a different spin on a classic tale of the Little Mermaid.
I just finished reading The Host by Stephanie Meyer a few weeks ago and it was brilliant. I really can't wait to finally see the movie. The characters were easily lovable. The world that Meyer created was overly realistic. I felt like I was right there with Melenie, Jared, and Wanda as I was reading it. I'd highly recommend it!
