What if you could dream your way into a different life? What if you could choose to live that life forever?

Sloane and Maggie have never met. Sloane is a straight-A student with a big and loving family. Maggie lives a glamorously independent life as an up-and-coming actress in New York. The two girls couldn't be more different--except for one thing. They share a secret that they can't tell a soul. At night, they dream that they're each other.

The deeper they're pulled into the promise of their own lives, the more their worlds begin to blur dangerously together. Before long, Sloane and Maggie can no longer tell which life is real and which is just a dream. They realize that eventually they will have to choose one life to wake up to, or risk spiraling into insanity. But that means giving up one world, one love, and one self, forever.

This is a dazzling debut that will steal readers' hearts.
Sloane lives in Connecticut and has a best friend named Gordy. She has many friends, though one in particular, Bill, died last year on her birthday. She lives a pretty normal life. One day at school, a new kid named James shows up. There were rumours going around that he was dating one of Sloane's friends, but he told her that it wasn't true. The funniest thing about James and Sloane is that they are exactly the same. They are super into reading and they're both really intelligent. They are also the only two who every speak in English class. They even got into a fight on James's first day about Daisy from The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald.

Maggie is an actress who lives in New York. Her mom works at Elle magazine. Since her mom works with fashion, Maggie always has the coolest clothes because she can just take them from the Elle closet. Maggie doesn't have many friends, considering that she pretty much quit school to focus on her job. She spends a lot of time helping her sister Jade. After finding out that there was a casting call for Robin on a new vampire show based off of very popular books, she decides to go for it. She heard about it from this man named Thomas, who happens to really seem to have a crush on  her. He confides in her that if they were in a relationship, it would have no hold over whether she would get the job or not on the show.

While in the park one day, Maggie finds this couple working on some sort of film. She watches them and listens in on their conversations. She meets the both of them, and finds that they guy's name is Andrew. A few days later, Maggie finds him in the park again, and he asks her to do a voice-over for his girlfriend's speaking because the professor didn't like her's much. She agrees and becomes stuck in a love triangle.

This book was really interesting. It was kind of cool because the same thing was happening to both of the characters at pretty much the same time. It was also interesting because you never knew which one was real and which wasn't, or if they were both real or both fake. It definitely messed with my brain and I absolutely loved that. The other thing I really liked was how there were two love triangles going on at the same time. There was Maggie, Thomas, and Andrew in New York and then there was Sloane, Gordy, and James in Connecticut. I especially loved how in the end they were practically spiraling into insanity. The very ending definitely threw me off. I'm still a bit confused as to what exactly happened, but I think that made me like the book even more. Stoltz and Bass have written a mind-bending novel which will keep you thinking about what happened days after reading it.
