Feature and Follow Friday (3)

Feature and Follow Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Alison Can Read & Parajunkee's View. It's a nice way to meet to new friends and gain new followers. I'd prefer if you'd follow via GFC. If you can't, you may follow via e-mail.

Q: What is a deal breaker for you in a book? For example, do you abhor love triangles? Or can't deal with bad editing?
A: The only thing that breaks a book for me is the pacing. If a book is really slow, I'll definitely have the urge to put it down and stop reading it. I'll never pick the book back up again unless I hear another amazing review for it.
If you follow me or if you are following me back, be sure to tell me in the comments! New followers, I'll be sure to follow you back ASAP.

  1. Hi, thanks for stopping by :) I totally agree on pacing. A book needs to be at least a little fast paced, or else I can't keep my focus!
I'm glad to follow your blog, it seems like we have a quite similar taste in books :)
    New follower via GFC, btw!

  3. After you have a few years reading you'll discover that love triangles are all the same! plus she always picks the one I don't want (Twilight, anyone?)

  4. Thanks for stopping by my blog-the quotation thing is a very specific pet peeve :p I have seen this and it messes me up as to if the character is still talking or not. Followed via GFC.

  5. Pacing...You know, I have to admit, I can hang with a slow book if I really like the characters. But that's a big IF :)

  7. If a book has slow pacing, it takes me longer to finish. Or at least it takes me forever to get to the fast paced action and then I read like there's no tomorrow. But if that moment never come... Well. I don't finish.

Thanks for stopping by my FF. Followed you back via GFC :)

  10. If a book is slow paced, I'd probably get aggravated, put it down for a while, and then force myself to pick it up again. I rarely don't finish books, but when I do it would probably be because of that reason. Thanks for stopping by! Followed back. :D

  12. I can definitely agree with you on pacing. If it's too slow, I start skimming and then I feel like I'm cheating. Good answer.

    Following back via GFC!

  13. I agree that slow pacing is annoying. It makes the book a chore to read and no longer enjoyable. Thanks for hopping by my blog! Following you back :D

  14. Slow pacing gets on my nerves, I read a book to feel suspense, excitement, and all those things but definitively not to fall asleep. Great answer and thanks for stopping by my blog.

  15. Pacing is definitely a big deal. With so many exciting books on the reading pile I won't waste a lot of time with a book if it doesn't get and keep my attention.
