Top Ten Tuesday (8)

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.
This week's theme is Top Ten Bookish Confessions.

  1. I don't like to dog-ear pages. It really bothers me when I borrow someone else's book and it has dog-eared pages.
  2. I don't like stains on books and stains in general.
  3. I like to read my hardcover books without the actual dust jacket on it. I find it annoying when I read the book with it on. Plus, it keeps the book cleaner.
  4. I prefer hardcover books to paperback books.
  5. When I lend out a book, I only give the book without the dust jacket.
  6. I have not yet read Anna and the French Kiss and Lola and the Boy Next Door.
  7. I have not yet read anything by Jennifer L. Armentrout. Not even Obsidian! I really want to though...
  8. I treat a book with more care before I read it. Once I read the book, I don't treat it as well, but I still treat it with tons of care.
  9. I'm okay with taking books from the library, although I don't like it when I absolutely LOVE the book because then I don't own a copy of it.
  10. I like to seperate my books by height on my shelf, although I'd like to try seperating by color because I think that is just so cool.
  11. This isn't really a bookish confession, although it's an awesome snack to eat while reading! Mix chai tea with whipped cream and dip graham crackers in it! I love vanilla chai tea mixed with whipped cream with cinnamon graham crackers. It's delicious!
What were your bookish confessions? Leave a link below and I'll be sure to check out your list!

  1. Stains are really bad! I can't stand those in books. :)

    1. They are so annoying and I get kind of grossed out!

  2. Ditto to 1-3! I also haven't read any Jennifer L. Armentrout yet, though I've finally ordered Obsidian. I also still have to read Lola and the Boy Next Door. I've considered ordering my books by color but then I'd sometimes have to separate books in a series and that's a no-no for me :P
I used to buy mostly hardcovers but had to cut back on that because it got too expensive. I still secretly prefer them though, and I'd never borrow them with the dustjacket because it would get crumpled and I hate that! (I only borrow books to a few trusted people anyway ^^'')
Great list! Love that we have quite a few in common :)
    Here are my confessions.

    1. I guess I'm not the only one who has read any Armentrout! You're ahead of me with ordering a book by her though. I'm hoping to order some new books soon so hopefully I'll get a copy of Obsidian and half-blood.

I only lend books to trusted people as well. :D

  3. YOur confessions all sound like ones that I would have to say I do myself. Especially the dog earring of pages. I want to scream NOOOO when I see someone do that.

  4. Ooh, I hate reading books with the dust jacket on. It just gets in the way. But then I leave it lying around somewhere and it gets crinkled anyway. I need to be neater about those...

    1. I understand completely! I have to hide them somewhere to make sure they don't get ruined.

  5. I never lend out my dust jackets either because they're just too flimsy and can be easily damaged! Jennifer L. Armentrout is amazing and Obsidian is so good! I just bought her new novel Cursed and I can't wait to start it :) Awesome confessions! My TTT:

    1. I always think that if the normal book is ruined, the dust jacket will cover it up. I really want to read Jennifer's novels. I should get to that soon!

  6. I'm not a fan of hardbacks because they take up too much room on the bookshelf and the cover is damage far too easily. Not so sure about Tea and cream together!

  7. I'm so amused that you put not having read any Armentrout on here. It definitely does feel like a shameful secret right? I haven't read any either.

  8. I sort my books by height as well, although that is more a function of the absurd shelf heights I set when I built the shelves than anything else.

    1. Yeah, I feel like all my books need to be the same height.

  9. I agree! The dust jackets are annoying. They get in my way constantly. so i take them off too. i will never dog-ear a page either. it kills me. i haven't read either of those books too. And I love vanilla chai tea and your suggestion sounds awesome! great list!

    1. I highly suggest trying it. It's addicting!

  10. I love sorting out my books by color, but it gets annoying when the book is multiple colored and I can't decide if I have to put it beside black or blue or red.

    1. I definitely understand because I feel the same way!

  11. I don't dog-ear either. And I once bought a used book that had these weird stains in it and it grossed me out. Who knows what those stains were? So now I kind of rifle through the book to check for stains when I go to the used book store!

Great list, and I love your blog's new look!

  12. Great list! I don't like holding hardcovers as much as paperbacks, but they are definitely more durable!

  13. I also read my hardbacks without the cover-although I once ripped a cover accidentally because I didn't take care where I left it. Warning to others-be aware of where you leave the cover when it's not on the book!

    1. One of mine got squished. I keep my dust jackets on the shelf now. :)

  14. I agree with 3+5! Dust jackets just really annoy me sometimes cause I hate seeing them getting messed up.

    1. I'm fine if the book gets a little damaged after I read it, as long as the dust jacket is perfect!
